So, here are a few versions that I hope you'll consider as you make your choice:
- New International Version (Be sure it's the 2010 release so you'll have access to the latest research and scholarship to fuel your personal Bible study)
- Holman Christian Standard Bible -- HCSB -- lots of research and resources are packed into this one.
- New Living Translation
- English Standard Version
- The Message is a fantastic Bible for reading to get the impact of the stories in modern language. It's not a great study Bible but Eugene Peterson packs some punch in there. If you've been in a lot of Bible Studies and need to refresh yourself from the routine then The Message is a great translation to grab and enjoy.
