Let me point out a few compelling differences about Phos ...
1. Mission is central to our work of Disciple Making at Phos. Not only do we use mission to reach more people but we use mission as a 'forge' to hammer out the Disciple Making process. It's central to us to be engaged wherever we work, live, and play and then to carry that mission to the ends of the earth as well. We grow best when we go.
2. We will fully engage in serving in this community where/when she is in motion. We'll be light in dark places and plant flowers in the deepest messes. Jesus commissioned His followers to be Light in the world. If the church goes camping and refuses to engage where people are then the world goes dark. We grow best when we are light in the middle of real life.
3. We believe that Disciples are formed best in one-on-one personal, real relationships. We tag that process of helping and being helped as the mentoring matrix. It's vital for a person that wants to get 'Big' in her/his relationship with Christ and others to have the proper coaching from others who are growing that way. You gotta have buddies who wanna be 'Giant Killers' and Upward Mentors who are Giant Killin', land-takin', full-on Christ followin' people if you wanna become on, too. You gotta have great mentors if you wanna grow.
There's a lot more that I could share with you, but this slide set of images will be a great reminder as we move forward.
Have a great day,
Jeff
