Hollywood Couple Created 'The Bible' Mini-Series to 'Set the Record Straight' - ABC News

You’re invited to join us this March as the Bible will be brought to life in lessons and video clips from The History Channel’s mini-series ‘The Bible’. Our Sunday morning sermon series during March will coordinate with what you'll experience in 'The Bible' mini-series. We offer two identical services each Sunday morning at 9:30 and 11 AM.

In addition to Sunday morning services, Phos Church will be airing ‘The Bible’ in it’s entirety on Wednesday evenings in March at 6:30 PM at 4200 Centerfield Drive. We'll be set up with popcorn and sodas and will have pizza at 'intermission'. This is a great way to meet new friends, extend your relationships and learn more about 'The Bible'. We'll have childcare as well on site (the mini-series may be too graphic for young children). Please make plans to arrive by 6:15 PM to get your children squared away, grab some refreshments and get situated, the mini-series will start right at 6:30 PM in the Worship Center.

We hope that you will connect with God and others through 'The Bible' mini-series at Phos Church. Click below to view the official trailer from The History Channel.

New Plans! Casting Crowns, Dave Ramsey & More. Plus, The Bible Comes to TV this Sunday

I'm a huge user and fan of YouVersion -- The Bible App --  and I believe you'll benefit a ton from loading this up and using it.

If you love videos and music you may be interested in the new Bible Reading plan from Overflow that features videos by several Christian musicians/groups.

ALSO, YouVersion is featured as a partner with 'The Bible' Series coming up in just a few days.  We will launch into a Message series on Sunday mornings during March that coordinates with what you'll experience in 'The Bible' Miniseries.  It will air on Sundays and Wednesdays on the History Channel.  DVR it and watch it whenever you want.

If you want to watch it with friends then you could do that in your small group or invite a few friends over to your home OR you can join us in the Worship Center at 4200 Centerfield Drive in Crestwood.

IF you don't yet have a group, why not join us at 4200 [ our main campus ] on Wednesday evenings in March at 6:30?  We'll be set up with popcorn and sodas and will have pizza at 'intermission'.  I think this is a great way to extend your relationships and learn more about 'The Bible'.  We'll have childcare as well. [ I don't recommend this series for young children as I think it's gonna be pretty graphic. ]  Please make plans to arrive a little before 6:30 to get your children squared away and to get situated.  We need to start the show right at 6:30 for the sake of time.

I hope that you are prayerfully connecting with God and personally connecting with people to invite them to join you in experiencing 'The Bible' miniseries.  It's a great way to invite new people to worship with us at Phos and into your life.

Have a Super Day,
Jeff

Speakadalanguage of Love? Practically Speaking - Feb. 15, 2013

Phos Family, this is really good info.  A little love 'spoken' the right way goes a long way.   We can all do better at loving those we love and these simple ideas will help you do that.  Enjoy!  Happy Valentine's Day a Day Late!   Jeff

Practically Speaking

Words Of Affirmation

Think about a goal, dream, or accomplishment that your loved one may be putting off because they feel inadequate. Use your affirming words to en-courage them (instill courage). Tell them you think they can do it; accomplish it; be it. These simple words could boost their confidence and help them reach their potential. (Relationship: Marriage, Family)

Acts Of Service

Today is all about noticing. Take notice of some things that may be small irritations to your spouse. Maybe it's oiling a squeaky door, taking out the trash, cleaning a stain off the carpet or couch, tightening a loose screw, organizing a stack of papers, making the bed, or cleaning out a junk drawer. Whatever it is, take the initiative. Acts of Service are intentional. (Relationship: Marriage)

Receiving Gifts

Is there something meaningful that you possess—jewelry, trinket, watch, book, etc... Consider passing it along to your child if they are at a responsible age. Don't just give it to them—take some time to share why it is significant to you and why you want them to have it. (Relationship: Parent to Child)

Quality Time

Plan a "Picasso Pizza Party" with your family. Get some fun and unique toppings. Instruct everyone to use the crust as a canvas and ask them to design a portrait of someone in the house using the toppings. After the pizzas are cooked, take pictures of them and guess who each pizza represents. Later, display photos as art and a reminder of this special time spent together. (Relationship: Family)

Physical Touch

Let your next hug linger just a little longer with your loved one. Add a light back rub or back scratch to help his/her love tank overflow. (Relationship: Spouse, Couple, Parent to Child)

Parenting: Facing the fear factor

My family loves visiting Cox Farm every autumn to pick pumpkins, drink cider and enjoy a hayride. The highlight is riding the giant slide. Although sliding on a burlap bag is good old-fashioned fun, the slide is big enough to scare small children – like my 5-year-old son, Josiah.

I knew that if my son didn't face his fears, he'd forfeit all the fun. So I bribed him with kettle corn. Riding down that slide together was an unforgettable memory and a teachable moment. I explained to Josiah that fear keeps us from experiencing life to the fullest. Then I came up with a family mantra that I've repeated countless times since: Remember the slide!

One of our responsibilities as parents is to help our kids face their fears. During the teen years, our kids encounter new fears, bigger fears. read more

    Safe Haven (PG-13)

Twentysomething Katie is on the run. What she's running from, however, isn't clear. She lands in a sunny tourist spot where she hopes to find a new life, but this newfound safe haven isn't perfect. Katie's past – in the form of a Boston police officer doggedly pursuing her – is catching up. read more
