Keep Praying for Baby Mackenzie, her mom & dad -- Tiffany & C.J. as well as Grandparents Trudy and Bob Singleton

The results from Mackenzie's MRI came in this afternoon and she does have some sort of spots on her brain and one in her throat that may not be the same as those in her brain.  Our prayers remain strong that this will be treatable and beatable and that she'll be healthy.  But, as most of us have seen in life, sometimes it's hard to believe when the odds are stacked against us.  Waiting is so tough in days like these so lets rally around this family and support them in these days.

Remember it's 'Not Great Faith that we Need -- It's Faith in a GREAT GOD.'

So, pray, call, text, facebook and support them as we walk together and love each other along.

Pray for strength, and courage and insight and wisdom and for the right medical team to be called into play to work with Mackenzie.

Overcoming Strongholds in YOUR Life

The story of the the Battle at Jericho in Joshua 5 & 6 is one of the most impressive stories in the Bible.

But, more than being impressive it's powerful for your life right now.

There are powerful principles packed into this ancient story that show how Christ overcomes strongholds that stand in your way as you move into God's chosen place for you.  We're all gonna come up against HUGEMONGOUS Walled Fortresses that are impossible for us to overcome on our own.  The great news is that we don't have to take on the enemy and his fortified cities by ourselves...we have a great God, a powerful Saviour in Jesus Christ and the overcoming resource of the Holy Spirit to show us how to fight, when to fight and then to fight for & with us to accomplish God's mission.

I have GREAT News for anybody facing a challenge that I'll be sharing this Sunday.

Look over these image slides and dig into the scriptures listed prayerfully to get the most from our time together this Sunday.
Looking forward to unpacking all this with you at Phos this Sunday, 10 AM at OCHS.

Was 'Jericho' a REAL city? Did the walls REALLY just fall down?

We'll be digging into our Bibles this week in Joshua 5 and 6 -- the story about the Israelite's Conquest over a great fortress city called Jericho.  Many times we wonder if the Bible is 'true' or is it a bunch of make believe fairy tales spun to make us feel good about God.  The Bible is amazingly accurate when it comes to recording Ancient Middle Eastern History and this story is no exception.

Check out this link.  This would be good stuff for you and your children to talk about around the dinner table sometime in the week ahead.

We're all gonna face enemy strongholds [fortresses] that seem too big to overcome as we follow God into His will for our lives.  You're gonna learn a ton about how to overcome the FORTRESS Cities you come up against in your life at worship this Sunday with Phos.

If you're facing a really big challenge somewhere in your life you NEED to know how to overcome that challenge with God's power and in God's way.

Enjoy.

He Will Reign Forever and Ever ... Even in Macy's !!

WOW, what a reminder that God is on the move everywhere.although a church didn't organize this spectacular reminder  of God's presence it's one more example that God IS -- everywhere, all the time -- and that HE IS ON THE MOVE calling all people to a relationship through the powerful work of His Son, Jesus Christ. Who, by the way, is the one who will reign forever and ever.
This will get you ready for the upcoming Advent Season for sure.
Read this and enjoy this video. Made me smile all the way to the core!

The largest functioning pipe organ in the world is located (of all places!) in the Macy's department store in downtown Philadelphia.
The organ is played daily at noon while shoppers visit the store, as well as for many after-hours special events and concerts.
Just last Saturday, 10/30/2010, one such special event "happened."  While the store was filled with ordinary shoppers, more than 600 "shoppers" burst into a full chorus of the "Hallelujah Chorus" from  Handel's "Messiah." The "happening" event was staged by the  Philadelphia Opera Company and engaged volunteers from just about  every school, church and singing group in the city. This little 5-minute clip really deserves a look and listen, in my opinion.

The organ is known around the world as the "Wanamaker Organ" because John Wanamaker installed this 28,500+ pipe instrument in the "Grand Hall" at the center of his 7-story department store.
The cross-shaped store opened in 1909 and fills a city block. The entire top floor is set up as a pipe organ maintenance and repair shop and once engaged 40 employees to expand and maintain the instrument.  Obviously, my own enthusiasm for pipe organs pales incomparison to that of John Wanamaker!
Why doesn't this make the news?
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the places and moments that take our breath away."
