Feast Daily to Grow Best... Read Your Bible and Pray Every Single Day

I know that nearly all of us want 2011 to be Our Best Year Ever so I wanted to offer a quick tip.  Your 'Spiritual Nutrition' matters a ton.  Great 'soul food' prepared by people who have walked with God for a long time and who know Jesus intimately is what you need on a consistent basis.   And, you need fuel more than just once a week on Sundays to grow stronger.  However, it's sometimes hard to know where to start reading your Bible or what to pray or do with what you're learning.  A great way to fuel yourself daily is through a Daily Devotion Guide by a Christ-Centered person.

I'm using a new Daily Devotion Guide this year that is fantastic!  It offers a scripture to think about, then a few paragraphs to read about those scriptures and then it suggests something to do that will help me connect with God.  It's very practical and it's very powerful.  I think you'd benefit from this a ton.  It's called, 'Hearing God Through the Year' by Dallas Willard.

PLEASE!  If you aren't already Feasting at the Table of God Daily then Get this Daily Devotional Right NOW!

p.s. If you are using a different Daily Devotional written by a Christ follower that you are finding useful and want to make a 'pitch' for it then fire it back over to me via email and I'll post it up. Be sure to include the title, the author and your name in your pitch.

Listen to people who have succeeded...

Do your homework this week of finding a buddy to encourage and a coach
to learn from. Find someone who has done what you'd like to do and
learn from them. Read their book, take them to lunch or work out
with them. Just get into the brain and life, if possible, of someone
who has succeeded in the arena you want to win in. Ask a lot of
questions, take some notes and listen twice as much as you talk and
you'll be on the road to your best year ever.

Enjoy your ride!

To Achieve Higher Goals

To climb higher you have to train harder.
To get to new places you've for to take new roads.
To learn new things you need a new set if coaches.
To enjoy life more you need to love and be loved by God and others.
To arrive in better places it's gonna take risking unfamiliar spaces
and welcoming new faces.
To live life fully is to allow Christ to give it to you completely-
your life is not a 'do it yourself' project. God is waiting to craft
it with you, for you, and through you.

Enjoy your journey!

Jeff

Here's to your best year ever.

great link Laura

I just wanted to say thank you to Laura for posting the info about youversion.com, a bible resource.  If you haven't checked this sight out you should.  I had never looked at it before and now I am hooked.  As you read there are options for highlighting text, taking notes, tagging specific things and bookmarking important scriptures.  Plus you can pick a plan that is just right for you.  You can keep track of what you have read each day and have access to it from wherever you are.  I am quite impressed, thanks Laura!

Kendall at Chrysalis

Hi! Just wanted to let you all know that Kendall Rabeneck is going to Chrysalis, an incredible weekend opportunity for teens who are at least 16 or a sophomore the weekend after this. Let's remember to pray for him on his adventure and encourage him before he goes! It is a great growing experience for any teen in their walk with the Lord. Also, teens, if you are interested in participating in this weekend with Kendall (Jan. 14-16), call Kendall's mom, Angel, for details (225-4260).

Thanks!

Crossings Camp for Teens THIS Summer

Teens... you're not going to want to miss this:

This year, we are going to camp from July 5-9 and hoping to take 50 of us from Phos!  To reserve your spot, please turn a deposit of $75 (checks made out to Phos) in to me by February 6.  The total amount due is $234 so if you and your family can pay this amount in full now, then please consider doing so.  It helps us reserve spots now so that we can take our big group!

To check out the camp, visit crossingscamps.org.  And, please send this information to your friends and give them a call to invite them!

Thank you!
