Superbowl Sunday for Phos Teens

Hi, friends!

This Sunday (Feb. 6), you all have a great chance to hang out and have fun with other teens your age and your parents.  So, read on for details and email me if you need directions anywhere!

Middle Schoolers...

Middle schoolers and your parents, meet at the Talley's house at 5:30.  Bring an appetizer or two to share with the crew and come ready for a great time!

High Schoolers...

It's an Italian night Superbowl party so: high school guys, meet at the Rabeneck's house at 4:00 to make manicotti to share with all for dinner.  High school girls, meet at the Stewart's house at 4:00 to make fettucine alfredo.  We'll carpool over to the Rabeneck's where all (parents and high schoolers) will meet at 5:30 to serve our parents a great dinner that we'll enjoy together before we watch the game!  Parents, when you come at 5:30, please bring an appetizer or dessert to go with our meal.

All...

Don't forget that your camp deposits of $75 are due this Sunday!  See phoschurch.com for details.

Thank you!

Fantastic Little Bible Study You Can Do ONLINE in about 10 Minutes....

I'm up early preparing the message for this coming Sunday and this particular verse is loaded with potential for a powerful online study about who Jesus really is.  The way that the Bible Gateway website sets this up using the Holman Christian Standard Version of the Bible makes a very easy way to do a powerful online study.

Here's how:
2.  Once on the site take a moment to prayerfully read the scripture
3.  Now click on each of the blue letters [ A, B, C ] throughout the verse and read the scriptures that it takes you to
4.  Click the back button on your browser and repeat until you've gone through all the blue numbers [they're called 'cross references because the refer you to other scripture(s) ]

So cool.  So powerful.  The tools we have at our fingertips to explore the Bible are fantastic.

Enjoy today!!

p.s.  The Bible Gateway Site is my favorite online Bible Study resource -- it's powerful, simple, and it doesn't cost a dime to use!  Take some time to poke around on there and notice that you can change versions, click cross references, check commentaries and even dig into the original Greek and Hebrew text.  If you're ready to dig into your Bible this will really help.

Republic Bike | Custom track bikes, fixed gear bicycles, fixies, Dutch bikes | built by us and you

So many things can be customized and custom built these days like these really cool bikes:

This reminds me of how God wants to work with us -- each of us is meant to have a 'custom built' one-of-a-kind life.  But, we're not always patient enough with the process to let God do HIS best work in us.  Check out this passage that reminds us that we're hand-crafted by God and not mass-produced ....

Ephesians 2:8-10 (Common English Bible)

8 You are saved by God’s grace because of your faith through his faithfulness. This salvation is God’s gift. It’s not something you possessed. 9 It’s not something you did that you can be proud of. 10 Instead, we are God’s accomplishment, created in Christ Jesus to do good things. God planned for these good things to be the way that we live our lives.

For those at Phos Church gear up for a very cool series beginning right after Valentine's Day 2011 designed to help you learn all about living a 'Custom Built Life' with God.

Hoping for a flight out of Egypt...

Please pray for my neighbor, Steve Meyers who is in Egypt on a
research assignment for the University of Louisville. He hopes to get
safely out of Cairo on Sunday morning.
