FUEL UP to GET BIG.... 3 steps you can take to grow stronger NOW ...

Growth requires Exercise, Rest, and Fuel ... today I wanna focus on Fuel ..

If you don't fuel your body properly you won't grow as well as you'd like.   The same holds for our spirits.  If we don't fuel our spirits with worship, Bible study, prayer, and deep connections with Christ-centered friends we won't grow like we could.  And, I want to invite you to fuel yourself better with three things: 1. prayerful reflection on your sermon note cards 2.  Read 'The Me I Want to Be' and 3. Take the MONVEE journey with Phos in a Group beginning the week of February 21.

1.  I'd invite you to really use the sermon note cards we provide during worship each Sunday morning to make notes and then spend a little time during the week to prayerfully re-engage the Scripture and ask God to show you what you need to do about it and then DO it!

2.  I'd encourage you to dig into materials that I use as source materials for the sermon.  There's always a lot more to learn and work with than I can dish out in a sermon so feasting on 'extras' during the week will give you a much more balanced intake and help you grow better.  In a few weeks we're starting the 'Me I Want to Be' Series that will last for 6 weeks that's based on the book by John Ortberg called, 'The Me I Want to Be'.  Please get a copy and start reading through it.  I'll be using a lot of concepts from Ortberg's work in those six weeks.

3.  I also encourage you to take the MONVEE journey with us at Phos.  We'll be sharing how you can engage in this journey during Worship in the weeks coming up.  The MONVEE system is a way for you to discover how you're wired and how you can grow best in your walk with God.  You'll hear more about it during the sermon series and our Groups will be digging into the MONVEE materials during those same six weeks.  If I could make this step 'mandatory' for all people who really wanna grow I would because I think it will help you that much.

To win you gotta put a little skin in the game!  Growing in any relationship, including your relationship with God, requires investments of passion, time, energy, money, and listening & learning about the other person [God].  You are saved by grace and invited into a a powerful relationship with Him that deserves the best you've got!

peace,
Jeff

Pray for Egypt and Israel

Pray for the world leaders engaged in all the drama in the Middle East
these days. Our faith has it's roots in that region. From Genesis to
Revelation our Bible was written in that region originally. Your
Bible is loaded with history and geography that will help you make
sense of some of the current geopolitical turmoil. Here's a map that
may help you pray more specifically as you watch and read all the news
coming out of Egypt. It may also help you understand where our faith
ancestors lived.

Sponsor (Or Help Sponsor) a Phos Teen at Camp

Hi, friends,

This summer (July 5-9), lots of Phos teens will be piling in vans to travel to Cedarmore, a retreat center about 45 minutes away in what seems to be the middle of nowhere to experience the best week they'll have the whole year.  The camp is called Crossings and you can check it out at crossingscamps.org.  Crossings ministries does a great job lifting the name of Christ high for the students to hear God's Word.  And, the teens enjoy coming home to tell their stories of many adventures and messy games!

We hope to be taking about 25 of our teens and deposits are coming in now to reserve spots.  However, some teens desperately want to go and have carved the time away... but don't have the money to pay.  So... if you don't have a teen that is going on the trip, yet have the money to sponsor one (deposit is $75 and total cost is $234), please prayerfully consider sponsoring one or more.  Even if you can give just $5 or $10, that is one step closer for one teen to get to be invited into an incredible worshipful experience.

Feel free to call or email with questions or if you're interested!

Thank you!
