30 Days With Jesus (A Reading Plan)

Hi there, friends!

I handed these plans out to the teens at this past Sunday's Bible study at Wendell Moore Park and had a few people ask for a copy.  Even if you're not a teen, this is a great Bible reading plan to introduce us (or remind us) of Jesus... who He is, what He did/does and how we can follow Him.  Hope you'll read along with the teens and me!

Click HERE for the plan.

Thank you!

Childcare for the Phos Work Day Saturday

To all Phos parents,

I hope you have plans to join us this Saturday at our Phos Work Day at the new property from 9 to noon!  We will be meeting at 4200 Centerfield Drive and, if you have children up through 5th grade, we will have one room open for them.  If you are bringing any kids who will need childcare, please plan on coming at 9 AM and signing up with Meredith for a time slot in the morning to be with all the kids.  We'll rotate parents in and out so you all get a chance to serve with kids and help out on the property.

If you are planning on bringing your children, please RSVP to Meredith by Friday at noon.

Thank you!
Laura

Join in the Fun at our First Work Day at 4200 Coming Up Saturday, July 16 from 9 to noon

Come join the fun at 4200 at our First Work Day Saturday, July 16 from 9 to noon

Things are shaping up great with the move to 4200!

It's gonna be a lot of fun to work together and build more friendships as we begin to take the property over more fully and begin cleaning and then the renovations.

This Saturday we'll zero in on moving gear that E320 Church is not using into a room for safe keeping until their move out date and we'll pretty up the grounds by mowing, weeding and planting a few flowers near the sign out front, etc.  We'll also be cleaning the interior floors and walls and getting it spruced up until we can begin the full out renovations as soon as we're past the closing table.

Here's what you need to to do:
1.  pick your team
2.  email Jeff Monnin about where you'd like to serve [ if you don't care where you serve and are willing to just come serve then email Jeff that you just wanna work somewhere and he'll position you where we need firepower ]
3.  come dressed with gear that you may want/need [work gloves recommended]
4.  be at 4200 in the fellowship hall at 9 AM ready to roll and make some new friends
  • Mowing & Weed Eating Team
  • Flower Bed Mtce/planting Team
  • window cleaning team to clean windows inside and out and window sills
  • Interior Cleaning Team
  • Moving/Organizing Team
  • General Maintenance Team to Identify all water, gas, sewer, HVAC and electrical shutoffs and learn what's where, etc
  • Team Hospitality -- your job is to take care of the team with refreshments -- coffee, water and snacky stuff
  • We'll have plenty of water, coffee and snacks on hand.
We'll gather at 9 Sharp in the fellowship hall to meet the team leaders and the folks from E320 and then we'll divide up and get at it!

Objectives for the day:
Learn from the E320 team what they know about how to take care of this property so we don't have to re-invent the wheel.  [although, I'm sure that we'll come up with some ideas/processes that are better soon]
  • Entire property mowed / weed eated
  • clean all windows
  • Identify all shut offs for electric, gas, water and inspect HVAC, septic, kitchen appliances, etc
  • All flower beds spruced up and new flowers planted around sign
  • All floors/walls cleaned
  • All kids toys sanitized and nursery deep cleaned
  • E320 Gear moved into room so that when it's time for them to move on out that they are closer to done
  • Phos Gear organinzed in storage room so that we have an inventory of what's where
  • Phos Trailers cleaned out and organized so that they can serve as overflow storage when renovation work begins
  • deep clean the bathrooms
  • mop the sanctuary floor
  • move stage extenders back to storage
  • have fun
  • deepen friendships!
  • crank it up at 9 and be done by noon!
So, right now please email Jeff Monnin and let him know that he can count on you and where you'd like to serve.

By the way, if you have teenagers, this is a great way for them to learn to work/serve and they can get community service hours, too.

Thanks

Summertime with Kids at Phos

Hi there, kids!

You all did such a great job singing in church yesterday! Thanks to each of you for studying your songs and motions and practicing well. I know everyone appreciated your help in leading worship!

I just wanted to let you know that this coming week marks the first week of a brand new series called Center Stage. I am really excited about this one because each week will be a new adventure, learning about what worship is and the different ways that we can worship. You are going to have such a great time, so remember to come this week with Bible in hand and friends to your side!

Also, I wanted to let you know, kids, that we need some extra help from adults! If your parents aren't already serving during with the kids once a month, please ask them if they would pray and consider joining the Kid Team... we need help with your area and with the nursery and preschool areas! Have them contact me if they are interested!

Thank you!

Phos Kids & Parent's Camping with Len Jaggers on Friday evening July 8th ...

Subject: Phos Camping

Hey Phos Parents,

The Jaggers (Len, Hannah and David) have a new tent and are planning to camp at 4200 [the new church grounds] next Friday night 7/8/11, and we thought it might be fun to have company.  I've sent this to as many parents of elementary age Phos kids and friends as I could think of and find email addresses for.  Please feel free to forward to anybody I have missed.  We're going to keep it very simple.  If you wanna join us, just show up and bring what food/supplies/etc you need for yourself and your kids.  We'll have keys for the church building for access to the rest rooms.  I'm also working on getting an exemption from the fire department so we can have a fire in the fire pit.  You don't have to do anything other than just show up and bring your supplies and a tent.  You might want to bring ear plugs cuz I snore like a bear.  Hope y'all can join us.  Email me to get on board or to learn more:  ljaggers@johnsonpm.com
