Interested in Joining the Kid Team at Phos?

Plan to stay after the church service on Sunday, August 7 until 2 PM.  We will have lunch at noon and then meet to go over all responsibilities, the curriculum and the fun involved in working in the nursery or with the preschool or elementary kid groups.  We are in short supply of help with the kids and would love for you to join our team!

Email me if you have any questions or if you are interested in joining us on August 7 to learn more!

Thank you!

Teen Adventures THIS Sunday... Read for details and to reserve your spot!

Hi there, friends!

Please read this email and EMAIL ME BY FRIDAY if you want to reserve a spot to go on either trip and so that I can email you your waiver!!!  If I don't hear from you by email or text (640-4927) between now and then, we may not have a spot for you.  And, if you don't get the waiver from me to let your parents sign so you can bring it with you this Sunday, then you can't go.  Thank you!

Middle Schoolers: You all are going to Atlantis Water Park across the river in Indiana.  Bring $20.  (The park costs $10 and you'll need money for a fast food lunch on the way there.)  Also, bring appropriate swimwear, shoes and sunscreen PLUS clothes for over your swimwear to church this Sunday.  We will carpool from there and the driver of your car will bring you back to church that evening around suppertime for pick up by your parents.  (You can call your parents when leaving the water park to give them a time of arrival.)

High Schoolers: You all are going Canoeing at Blue River a little over an hour away.  Bring $30.  (The canoe trip costs $20 and you'll need money for dinner on the way back.  For lunch, we will provide sack lunches with fruit and a sandwich.)  Also, bring old sneakers, a hat, a water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray along with comfortable and cool clothes to canoe in.  A change of clothes for the ride back is recommended in case you tip :).  We will be back to church after dinner.  While at dinner, you can call your parents to give them a time estimate about when we will be back.

Adults: We need you!!!  If you'd like to come on either trip or at least provide rides, PLEASE EMAIL ME ASAP!  We need chaperones all the time! :)  And, if you'd like to help provide and pack the sack lunches for the high schooler's canoe trip, please let me know that ASAP as well!  Thank you for all of your help and support for these teens... they are looking forward to their adventures ahead and I know that they really appreciate you all making it happen!

Thank you!

What Is Butt Dust?

What Is Butt Dust??

What, you ask, is 'Butt dust'? Read on and you'll discover the joy in it! These have to be original and genuine. No adult is this creative!!

JACK (age 3)
was watching his Mom breast-feeding his new baby sister... After a while he asked: 'Mom why have you got two? Is one for hot and one for cold milk?
'

MELANIE (age 5)
asked her Granny how old she was.. Granny replied she was so old she didn't remember any more. Melanie said, 'If you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties.  Mine say five to  six.'

STEVEN (age 3)
hugged and kissed his Mom good night 'I love you so much that when you die I'm going to bury you outside my bedroom window.'

BRITTANY (age 4)
had an ear ache and wanted a pain killer. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle.  Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child-proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: 'How does it know it's me?'

SUSAN (age 4)
was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. 'Please don't give me this juice again,' she said, 'It makes my teeth cough..'

DJ (age 4)
stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: 'How much do I cost?'

CLINTON (age 5) was in his bedroom looking worried when his Mom asked what was troubling him, he replied, 'I don't know what'll happen with this bed when I get married.  How will my wife fit in it?'

MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad: 'Why is he whispering in her mouth?'

TAMMY(age 4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather wrinkled woman her Mom knew. Tammy  looked at her for a while and then asked, 'Why doesn't your skin fit your face?'

JAMES (age 4)was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: 'The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt.'  Concerned, James asked: 'What happened to the flea?'

The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget...

This particular Sunday sermon....'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust...'  He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Make sure you pass this one on and spread the smiles...

The MUSIC of the Body of Christ ...

(download)

When we take our cues from God as He leads the orchestra composed of the Body of Christ the music is extraordinary!  I've said before that the body of Christ is like a great orchestra -- we all have a part to play under the direction of the Great Maestro, Jesus.  And, so when I see something this amazing I think of what's it like when the Body of Christ is orchestrated and conducted to play His music for the world to enjoy and to marvel at.

[really, take the time to watch this!  It's very interesting, cool, and impressive ... ]

Enjoy,
Jeff

p.s.  this was an email forward from my dad, who sends me really cool stuff (most of the time!)

This is almost
unbelievable. See how all of the balls wind up in catcher cones.

This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort
between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick
School of Engineering at the University of Iowa . Amazingly, 97% of the
machine's components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation
      Equipment of Bancroft ,
Iowa . Yes, farm equipment!

It
took the team a combined 13,029 hours (6.26 years) of set-up, alignment,
calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see, it
      was WELL worth the effort.

It is now on display in the Matthew
Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated
      to the Smithsonian.
