Al Maupin's Brother In Law Prayer Request

my brother in law wayne humston was hospitalized yesterday and the prognosis is bad. he had a cat scan thinking he might have kidney stones. they called him to come back to the hospital and admitted him. they found a large mass in his colon, on his liver, on his lung, and in his lymph nodes. he also has some kind of infection because of bleeding in his colon. I am heading to the hospital this morning to sit with my sister. he is at uk in lexington. please add him and my family to the prayer list. seems like every time thing are calming down something always happens. I am sure ready for some peace.

Calling all Adults, Teens and Anyone with a Shovel!

The good news: We are going to build a sand volleyball court behind the playground at 4200!

The bad news: There is a septic pipe that runs across the location we need to dig with a Bobcat and we can't use a machine to dig over the pipe because it could bust it.

The BEST news: There will be free pizza if you help dig down to the pipe (about 18") on Tuesday night at 5:45.

Hope to see you and your shovel then!

HOLIDAY WORLD on JUNE 2

Teens (and anyone else who'd like to join us),

We are headed to Holiday World!

Click HERE to sign up to go - you must RSVP to get the group discount rate of $30 a person by May 31.

Then, bring $30 CASH (plus money for food) on June 2 to 4200 at 9 AM to jump in the carpool caravan and head out for a great day of fun!  Please wear sunscreen, walking shoes and an appropriate swimsuit with clothes over it for rides and the water park.

Phos Youth Band - Meet TONIGHT at 4200

Sup guys!
     I hope you all are excited, because the PHOS YOUTH BAND is on the horizon. We are in the process of getting everything together for you all! I am looking for devoted people that will commit to this opportunity. 
     I am going to attach three songs that I want you all to practice. We will meet TODAY May 24th from 7 - 9 PM at our church. There, we will help you with these songs and guide you on learning them. This will be a time where you can come with questions and we will help you. Please come prepared though, this is not a day that we teach you everything. I am looking forward to working with you all and hearing the talent that you all have! 
     After the 24th we will have an audition on the 31st from 7 - 9 PM that will test what you all have been working on for about two weeks at that point. I want this to be fun and exciting for everyone, but this is going to be a serious event as well. Jeff potentially wants the youth band to play in the MAIN SERVICE. We have to sound good guys! We need to be able to give our church a great worship experience as well as your peers. At the audition there will be judges that will ask you all to play/sing along to these three songs. We will also have a song that you will be unprepared for to see how well you can sight read. 
     If you all have any questions please call or text me at 502-758-0847. This is a big deal guys! Please practice! You all are only going to get what you put into it!

Summertime for teens!

Starting with a Bible study (6 PM) and bonfire (7 PM) this Wednesday, we have a great summer ahead for teens at Phos! Hope you can join us!

We have a great chance to Open 4200 for the Community tomorrow … can you take a shift?

We have the privilege of having 2 Voting Precincts at 4200 from 6 AM til 6 PM on Tuesday, May 22nd.  Wouldn't it be great to have 4200 opened with some refreshments and smiling people to greet the community as they stop by to vote.  We are not permitted to influence the vote in any way, but we can share the news about Phos through conversation and walk throughs for any who are interested.  So, would you be willing and able to take a two hour shift sometime tomorrow to show some love as people stop by?  All you have to do is be nice, initiate conversations and show folks around who want to see more of 4200. Of course you'll be offering them a soft drink or a snack as well.  [all that will be here ready for you ]  Just be a good host/hostess.  

Here's how it will roll:
6 AM to 8 AM Jeff Fuson / _____________
8M to 10 AM  Jeff Fuson / _____________
10 AM to Noon ______________ / ________________
Noon to 2 PM       ______________ / ________________
2 to 4 PM  ______________ / ________________
4 to 6 PM ______________/ ________________

So, it's an easy assignment for those who enjoy people and are excited about Phos Community Church.

Last Teen Group Night of the School Year

Teens,

Come to your host home this Sunday at 6 PM for the last group of the school year and bring a snack or drink to share!

Middle Schoolers - switched to the Graves house this week!  (6606 Clore Lake Road, Crestwood, 40014)

High Schoolers - at the Talley's house (5450 Old LaGrange Road, Crestwood, 40014)

5th Graders Ice Cream Social

On May 20, all 5th graders and their parents are invited to 4200 at 6 PM for an ice cream social and time to hear about what is coming up in the youth ministry for soon-to-be middle schoolers. Come ready to build your own sundae and make some new friends! Emilee Wenz (our summer youth intern) and Laura Cochran will be there to help you know what to expect for the summertime and the year ahead!
